So many similar books in your stacks that are either on my TBR list or I’ve already read! I started an IRL book club this year and we’re reading all kinds of books. We read We All Want Impossible Things, which was so lovely but also a hard topic and some people chose to read Sandwich instead. This month we’re reading Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow
I really liked God of the Woods and Same as It Ever Was. If you like life sneak peeks, you might also like Catherine Newman. Her books are short but packed with good characters and plot development. I loved "Sandwich," her most recent one. I've been really feeling memoirs lately and just finished I'm Glad My Mom Died," so late to that party lol
I LOVED SANDWICH— will absolutely be a best of 2024 for me. What other books of Catherine Newman’s should I read? I was also a big fan of “I’m Glad My Mom Died” and better late than never! There are too many books to read them all right when they come out 🙃
So true! For Catherine Newman, I also read "We All Want Impossible Things." It's the movie Beaches but in a book. Have you read any memoirs you loved recently?
Big memoir fan over here! Check out Congratulations The Best is Over! by R. Eric Thomas for a literally LOL memoir. I read the print copy and listened on audio.
I'm a big fan of Dani Shapiro and recommend all of her books, especially the memiors. I'm currently reading Matrescence by Lucy Jones which is memior-ish (with some data and science all about motherhood) and also am loving Viola Davis' memior (Finding Me) on audio!
